Fenerbahçe defeated bitter rival Galatasaray 2-1 in a game played at Galatasaray's Türk Telekom Arena in Istanbul yesterday.The visitors closed the gap on leader Galatasaray to just two points with the victory. The Lions lead the four-team playoff with 42 points.
Fenerbahçe scored the first goal of the game through Reto Ziegler in the 17th minute. Galatasaray's Selçuk İnan answered with a free-kick goal in the 68th minute. The Lions subsequently had numerous chances to forge ahead but were hit on the break by Fenerbahçe substitute Miroslav Stoch in minute 79.
Galatasaray will visit Trabzonspor on April 28 while Fenerbahçe hosts Beşiktaş on April 29. (Hürriyet)
