Two soldiers were injured after a group of PKK members attacked a commando military unit in Hatay... A small group of PKK members attacked the Commando Unit based in Karayılan district of Hatay’s Iskenderun town in southern Turkey at about 5.15pm on Sunday. The attack, in which long-barrelled weapons were used, resulted in the injuries of 2 soldiers.
An immediate response to the initial attack drove the PKK group away into the Amanos Mountains. The injured 2 soldiers were taken to a hospital in Iskenderun town for treatment, and a large scaled operation against the PKK group was launched immediately after the attack. (DHA)
