Hürriyet photoThe Turkish branch of the international “hacktivist” organization Anonymous has indicated that it has blocked access to the websites of the CIA and Interpol, daily Hürriyet reported today.
Using the slogan "We hack the world to save the planet.”, the cyber group tweeted the attack minute by minute on their Twitter account.
The attack was named "Tango Down,” the code phrase used when special American military teams take down enemies.
Anonymous has also posted tweets saying that they are planning new attacks on Turkish websites.
The group wrote on Twitter before the attack "The thing dying here is only my body, but you cannot kill my thoughts. My thoughts will keep on living”, quoting the words of Deniz Gezmiş, one of the leaders of the 1968 student movement in Turkey.
Anonymous recently took down the website of the Turkish Health Ministry to protest an incident in which hundreds of public school students became ill and were hospitalized after drinking free milk distributed at schools by the government. (ISTANBUL - Hürriyet)
