One sailor was killed and three were missing as a Turkish cargo vessel sank in Greek waters in the Aegean Sea today.

Greek officials said there were 10 personnel on board the ship that capsized, of whom six were rescued and one was found dead.

Search and rescue teams were looking for the three missing personnel, officials said. Greek coast guard has dedicated five boats while Frontex dispatched a helicopter to take part in search efforts.

The vessel belonged to Turkish company "Yakamoz Shipping" and was named "Erol Şenkaya."

A spokesperson from the Greek coast guard said the weather conditions were fair in the area when the ship went down and added that they suspected the vessel capsized after a load of timber it was carrying shifted in the cargo hold. (Hürriyet)
