Turkish officials condemn terrorist attacks

Turkish president has said that Turkish state and nation fully supported the security forces who have been continuing their fight against terrorism with a great determination and courage.

September 16, 2012 - Turkish president has said that Turkish state and nation fully supported the security forces who have been continuing their fight against terrorism with a great determination and courage, condemning attacks that killed four soldiers in southeastern province of Hakkari and eight police officers in eastern province of Bingol.

President Abdullah Gul, Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu released statements condemning attacks in Hakkari and Bingol.

Parliament Speaker Cicek said that Turkish security forces would continue to combat terrorism and continue operations to eradicate it from the country.

Turkish state would not allow terrorism to create chaos in the country, he said.

Premier Erdogan said that he felt deeply sad over killing of soldiers and police officers.

FM Davutoglu said such attacks could not weaken the will of the state, the government and security teams. (ISTANBUL (AA))
