Daily News photo: SELAHATTIN SONMEZA group of protesters has attempted to stage a demonstration in support of the ongoing hunger strike, which has entered it's 50th day, on the campus of Ankara's Middle East Technical University (ODTU), daily Hürriyet reported.
The police stopped the group before it entered the main gate of the ODTU campus, using pepper gas to interrupt the crowds gathered in support of the strikers. The group responded by throwing stones.
A fire broke out at the main gate of the campus during the incidents.
