Many of the students who came face to face with Göksel Kaya, dressed as modern Turkey’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, went into a frenzy of joy and confusion. Some cried, embracing him in tears while others were frozen in their spots.
"Aren't you dead?" one of the students asked Kaya.
The students reportedly did not want Kaya to leave their schools.
Kaya's school visits were part of a campaign to teach elementary students about April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day. (hurriyetdailynews)
