DHA photo.A 14-year-old-child killed a pit bull in Istanbul’s Kartal district after the dog attacked him in the sea, daily Milliyet reported today.
Yunus Yeltek reportedly went to the seaside with a relative, Okan A., who had brought along his pit bull.
Okan A. reportedly let his dog into the water after Yeltek went to swim.
But the pit bull suddenly attacked Yeltek in the water and bit him on the face and ear. The boy pushed the dog into water and drowned it following a struggle.
Witnesses on the coast called police and an ambulance was immediately dispatched to the beach.
Yeltek was taken to hospital after first-aid treatment at the scene.
Police also took the dog's owner into custody. (hurriyetdailynews)
